IL FIUME E NINA

Attraverso la tecnica dello stop motion seguiamo le vicende storiche di un territorio della Sicilia orientale, quello di Augusta, dai primi insediamenti umani in epoca preistorica, all’estrazione del sale in epoca moderna con la creazione delle saline, passando per le due Guerre Mondiali e la successiva industrializzazione che ha portato ricchezza, ma anche inquinamento. Il messaggio finale, tuttavia, è di grande speranza.

Through the technique of stop motion, we follow the historical events of a territory in eastern Sicily, the area of Augusta, from the first human settlements in prehistoric times, to salt extraction in modern times with the creation of the salt pans, passing through the two World Wars and the subsequent industrialization that brought wealth, but also pollution. The final message, however, is one of great hope.
