THE DISCONNECT
In un futuro prossimo macchine ed intelligenze artificiali hanno preso il sopravvento sul tessuto sociale. L’Istituzione Scolastica, ispirandosi al modello sociale, ha imposto un tipo di educazione individuale, costringendo i ragazzi all’isolamento e alla distanza.
In the near future, machines and artificial intelligence have taken over the social fabric. The Educational Institution, following this social model, has imposed a system of individual education, forcing children into isolation and distance.
Bio Regista
Matteo Macaluso, nato a Parma nel 1979, si diploma all’Accademia d’Arte Drammatica dell’Antoniano nel 2001 e dirige il suo primo cortometraggio nel 2004. Nel 2009 vince il Premio Martelive con VERCINGE, corto sulla Resistenza. Tra il 2009 e il 2012 dirige TEARS e AL CREPUSCOLO, entrambi selezionati in festival internazionali. Nel 2016 inizia progetti educativi di cinema per giovani, e nel 2018 il corto RIFUGIO è tra i vincitori della categoria MyGiffoni al Giffoni Film Festival. GLOBAL W, prodotto nel 2019, vince il Meet International Film Festival. Nel 2020 dirige A WITCH IS BØRN, selezionato in vari festival internazionali. Nel 2021 realizza C’ERANO DUE RAGAZZI. DUE PARTIGIANI, e nel 2022 dirige L’ARMADIO, selezionato al Sitges Festival.
Matteo Macaluso, born in Parma in 1979, graduated from the Antoniano Drama Academy in 2001 and directed his first short film in 2004. In 2009, he won the Martelive Prize with VERCINGE, a short film on the Resistance. Between 2009 and 2012, he directed TEARS and AT DUSK, both selected at international festivals. In 2016, he started educational film projects for youth, and in 2018, the short film REFUGE was among the winners of the MyGiffoni category at the Giffoni Film Festival. GLOBAL W, produced in 2019, won the Meet International Film Festival. In 2020, he directed A WITCH IS BØRN, selected at several international festivals. In 2021, he created TWO BOYS. TWO PARTISANS, and in 2022, he directed THE WARDROBE, selected at the Sitges Festival.
