VELE AL VENTO

Europa, inizio del XX secolo. I pescatori salpano in barca a vela per viaggi di oltre sei mesi. Attraverso situazioni tipiche della vita quotidiana, seguiamo un’intera giornata di vita a bordo di queste imbarcazioni, esplorando le tecniche di pesca utilizzate per oltre cento anni, nonché le leggende e i racconti che li cullano in alto mare. In questo cortometraggio, i dipinti delle Vele al Vento del pittore italiano Pirós prendono vita attraverso le tecniche del cut-out e dell’animazione computerizzata 2D, fondendo fantasia e realtà.

Europe, early 20th century. Fishermen set sail in sailing boats for journeys lasting more than six months. Through typical everyday situations, we follow an entire day of life aboard these boats, exploring the fishing techniques they had used for over a hundred years, as well as the legends and tales that lulled them on the high seas. In this short film, the Vele al Vento paintings by the Italian painter Pirós are brought to life through the techniques of cut-outs and 2D computer animation, merging fantasy and reality.
