WHAT WILL BECOME OF THEM
Pisa, 2023. Settembre, comincia un nuovo anno scolastico. Per molti sarà l’ultimo e per un anno speciale ci dev’essere un professore speciale. In vista della maturità, il docente si pone un obiettivo ambizioso: individuare i limiti e sviluppare le potenzialità di tutti. Servirà un po’ di durezza, costerà un po’ di fatica, ma sarà l’unico modo per non lasciare indietro nessuno.
Pisa, Italy (2023). It’s September, and a new school year begins. For many students, this will be their last. And a special year needs a special teacher. As the final exam approaches, the teacher sets an ambitious goal: to identify everyone’s limits and highlight their strengths. It will take effort, and a bit of toughness, but it’s the only way to ensure no one is left behind.
Bio Regista
Laureatosi in Filosofia a Pisa nel 2011, Daniele Ricci è docente specializzato nel sostegno didattico agli alunni con disabilità e lavora dal 2021 al Liceo Musicale G. Carducci di Pisa. Appassionato di musica e arti figurative, ogni anno realizza progetti didattici con alunni speciali (video, musica, stop-motion), cercando di intrecciare le loro abilità con le loro passioni, affinché possano emergere come protagonisti del processo artistico. Nel 2024 ha ideato il suo primo cortometraggio, CHE NE SARÀ DI LORO, con l’intento di permettere allo studente protagonista di presentare un progetto all’orale della maturità che compensasse le difficoltà comunicative e di realizzare il desiderio di dare un ultimo saluto, in grande stile, ai propri compagni di scuola.
Graduating in Philosophy from Pisa in 2011, Daniele Ricci is a teacher specialized in educational support for students with disabilities and has been working at the G. Carducci Music High School in Pisa since 2021. Passionate about music and the visual arts, he develops educational projects each year with special-needs students (video, music, stop-motion), seeking to intertwine their skills with their passions to help them emerge as protagonists in the artistic process. In 2024, he created his first short film, WHAT WILL BECOME OF THEM, with the aim of enabling the lead student to present a final exam project that could help compensate for communicative difficulties and fulfill his wish to bid a grand farewell to his schoolmates.
